Impressive Security Guard

Yesterday, I made a trip to Sim Lim Square to get a 1TB external hard drive from SGL Marketing.

It's my third visit to the shop and I still could not remember its location.

I approached the information counter and a security guard was manning it.

I asked him for the unit number of SGL. He stared into the air and recited, "SGL Marketing.... its... unit number 02-22."

I was very impressed. He didn't refer to any list/computer/log book/etc at all. He must have all the shops' location imprinted into his memory. That's a great feat.

Somehow, I can't help but believe that this uncle (the security guard) has pride in his job.

Memory | Photo prints & negatives

The picture on the left is an original print. The one on the right is a reprint.

Both photos have been kept in an album since 1999.

The year now is 2009. The reprinted photo has faded.

It's a matter of time that the original print will start to fade.

Thank goodness there's a new technology that allows us to convert our negatives into soft copies that can be burnt onto a compact disc.

I can now back up all the negatives I have.

Contentment

Time was 8.30am.

The morning sky was grey and gloomy.

The sun burst through the dull sky with a ball of bright orange.

I captured this moment.

I took a long look at it.

I heaved a sigh of contentment.

I carried on the rest of the day with a smile on my face.

今天,去了林祺大哥的家祭拜他的先父林成發老先生。

我們聊到信仰,談到迷信。

我承認我很迷信。

Scenes of Singapore | An Eventful Death?

There was once a majestic tree at Cairnhill.

It was decided that the tree had to make way for progress.

For comfort.

For LUXURIOUS comfort to be enjoyed by mankind only.

Then, it was chopped down.

Soon, a new condominium of 58 units will stand where the tree once stood.

Let us reminisce and see the tree at its glory.

樹栽在那裡,根就生在那裡。
但是,在一個為了進長而毫不顧慮一切的國家,
根 可以有个長生之處嗎?

Scenes of Singapore | Riverside Point

A memorable night out with Mei Yee, Siu Wai, Tadpole, HB, WS and Shiju at Brewerkz at Riverside Point.

A treat by HB.

Nice breezy night that turned a little chilly.

Took the shot from Reed Bridge.

Life Moves On

“Death is continuous from the moment of birth, from the moment of creation.”
~ taken from “What makes You Not a Buddhist” by Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse.

WHISPERS has come to a close.

Right from the start of this production, I have already anticipated its end. Thus, I don't feel any post-show blues. This anticipation is positive and healthy.

I've enjoyed the entire process of WHISPERS.

Memories of it will remain in my head.

Meanwhile, life moves on.

Occasionally, if I miss WHISPERS, I can always visit the site http://fingerplayers.com/whispers/ for some happy reading.
